Lecture: “Intersemiotic Translation and Transcription as Musical Impulses”

The lecture will serve as an introduction to recent compositional research and working processes stemming from dialogue with living poets and engagement with early computer-generated graphics from the composer Herbert Brün. The pressures and possibilities raised by translating and transcribing these materials across various compositional scenarios will be discussed alongside score and audio samples.

Lecturer: Rachel Walker
